Choose the right paint preparation step
A thorough wash removes loose dirt. Use iron remover to address bonded iron particles, then clay only if the paint still feels rough. Keep the surface lubricated and use light pressure. Polish if correction is needed. Before a compatible ceramic coating, use prep spray for the final wipe according to the product directions.
Do I need every product?
No. Inspect the paint after washing and use only the steps needed for its condition. Claying can leave light marring and may reduce existing protection, so test a small area first.
Is prep spray clay lubricant?
No. Use dedicated clay lubricant with the clay bar. Total Clean Prep Spray is for final surface preparation before a compatible coating.
